Celebration of Life
Rocky Shore of Lazarus
Taken during the low spring tides of June-August 2002, these images were not exhibited before. The diverse soft corals were awesome if not bizarre. The intertidal habitats are sandy as well as rocky. Sargassum form dense growths on some rocks. Red algae (Gracilaria sp.), green algae (Neomeris sp. & Caulerpa racemosa) are also seen. Dove snails are abundant. Black sea cucumbers were unusually long and colonies of anemones glisten like jade.
